Feedly, one of the main competitors of the now extinct Google Reader has released a pro version of its free RSS reader for $5 a month or $45 annually.. Some of the features of Feedly Pro include article search, secure browsing via HTTPS, one-click saving to Evernote, and support priority. These new changes will not affect the free version of Feedly, it will continue to run normally.
When the service launches in the fall, the Pro extras will work natively through Feedly, but the comapny is also adding these features to its API, so the goodies will be able to work on third-party developer's apps. In an FAQ post on its site, Feedly also announced that Pro users can vote on what new features they want to be developed next. Even though so much focus is going into Feedly Pro, the company says it will continue to add more and focus on the free version.
If you're married to Feedly, the company has released an offer that's just for you (and 4,999 other power users): pay $99 and get lifetime access to the premium features. The company also adding a sort of "one week guarantee", where if you don't like Feedly Pro, you can cancel your membership within a week of purchasing without incurring any charges.
